About us

Two commands.
Everything else
is detail.

Who we are

Miami Friends Church has been part of this town for [TK — how long?]. We’re a small church with the doors open wide: farmers and nurses and NEO freshmen, people who’ve been here their whole lives and people who showed up three weeks ago.

We’re not trying to be impressive. We’re trying to love God and love people, and to help each other become who we were created to be.

What we believe

Five convictions you’d hear in almost any message here.

01

Grace before performance

Your standing with God is a gift. It isn't earned, and it isn't lost by having a bad week.

02

Identity in Christ

Who you already are — chosen, dearly loved, a citizen of heaven — comes before anything you do.

03

Transformation

God is making you into the person you were created to be. That's hopeful work, not shaming work.

04

The Kingdom, lived now

Faith isn't only about eternity. It changes Monday — your work, your family, your money, your temper.

05

A God who is present

Christ still speaks. The still small voice, real peace, actual change. We come expecting to hear.

The short version

A grace-first community where you're already chosen and loved — and being made new.

Our roots

So, Quakers?

Not the oatmeal. Not buggies either. Friends began about 350 years ago with a conviction that God speaks directly to ordinary people — no special class of insiders required.

That's still how we do things. We sing, we open one passage of Scripture, we listen, and we make room for God to actually say something. We're part of Evangelical Friends Church Mid America.

Who you'll meet

There’s no staff directory to scroll, because there’s no staff to list. This church runs on volunteers who show up.

Pastor

Preaches most Sundays, and usually opens with a story about something he broke or fell off of. [TK — a sentence in your own words]
